Others check every door for traps. TavernAnime walked into our dungeon, rolled the dice and immediately turned the expedition into a story worth remembering.

There are collaborations that begin with a message.

This one began at the tavern, continued through a series of hilarious videos, and eventually crossed the gates of a real modular dungeon.

TavernAnime joined us at the fair, took part in our live demonstrations and sat down to play inside the 3D Legends terrain. They did not simply observe the dungeon from outside. They entered it as players, moved through its rooms and brought their unmistakable party energy to the table.

The result was exactly what every Game Master secretly expects.

Plans were made. Rules were questioned. Trouble followed.

Who Is TavernAnime?

TavernAnime is an Italian group of four friends—Michael, Roberto, Simone and Marco—creating comedy and entertainment inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, fantasy adventures, anime, manga, tabletop games and wider nerd culture.

Their videos transform familiar roleplaying situations into short sketches: impossible player decisions, arguments with the Dungeon Master, suspicious dice rolls, chaotic plans and those moments every RPG party recognises immediately.

The group describes its content as a collection of sketches, epic gaming moments and absurd situations that players have experienced at least once around a D&D table. Their creative world also includes anime, fantasy, Baldur’s Gate and tabletop roleplaying culture. ion is what makes TavernAnime feel less like a conventional creator channel and more like a tavern filled with adventurers after a particularly disastrous quest.

Everyone has a story.

Nobody tells it in the same way.

From Italian Comedy to Fantasy Roleplaying

The humour of TavernAnime does not come from fantasy alone.

Their creative formula mixes the language of Dungeons & Dragons with Italian comedy, current social trends and references drawn from anime, films and video games. In particular, the group has spoken about reinterpreting scenes associated with Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo inside fantasy and roleplaying situations.

A familiar comedy sketch can become an argument between adventurers. A viral trend can turn into a failed spell. A normal conversation can become a confrontation with the Dungeon Master.

The fantasy setting changes.

The party dynamics remain painfully accurate.

Their recurring “interruption of the Master” is one of the best examples. In these sketches, the Game Master attempts to describe the world while a player continues to interrupt, object or introduce fresh chaos. It is comedy, but it also captures something authentic: tabletop roleplaying is created collectively, and no story survives contact with the players exactly as written. e Tavern Reached 3D Legends

When TavernAnime came to visit us at the fair, the collaboration moved from the screen to the gaming table.

Before them stood a physical dungeon built with 3D Legends: modular walls, corridors, chambers and playable spaces assembled into a complete fantasy environment.

Then the party entered.

During our demonstrations, TavernAnime experienced the dungeon as it was meant to be experienced—not as a static diorama, but as a living gaming system. Miniatures moved through real passages. Doors concealed what waited beyond them. Walls established line of sight. Rooms created decisions before a single enemy appeared.

A flat map can show players where they are.

A physical dungeon makes them feel what surrounds them.

That difference becomes especially powerful with a group such as TavernAnime. Their comedy is built around player reactions, unexpected decisions and the tension between the Master’s plan and the party’s interpretation of it. Inside a three-dimensional dungeon, those reactions gain a physical stage.

The corridor is no longer a line drawn on paper.

It becomes a narrow route the party must cross.

The closed door becomes an invitation to make a terrible decision.

The hidden chamber becomes a reward—or another reason to distrust the Game Master.

Why TavernAnime and 3D Legends Belong at the Same Table

At first glance, TavernAnime creates entertainment while 3D Legends creates printable terrain.

At the table, however, both are working toward the same objective: turning imagination into a shared experience.

TavernAnime gives a voice to the characters, disagreements, jokes and disasters that make a roleplaying session memorable. 3D Legends gives those moments a physical location in which to happen.

The 3D Legends system is a collection of more than 100 printable STL terrain files designed for fantasy RPGs, dungeon crawlers, skirmish games and dioramas. Its modular components can be printed, connected and rearranged to create corridors, rooms, ruins, ambushes and complete dungeon layouts. The system is also OpenLOCK compatible, allowing builders to integrate it into a wider ecosystem of modular tabletop terrain. ty matters because no two adventures follow the same path.

A chamber used as a prison during one campaign can become a forgotten crypt in another. A corridor can lead toward a boss encounter one evening and become an escape route the next. Towers, sewers, gates and hidden rooms can be rebuilt whenever the story demands a new descent.

One System, Endless Dungeons.

TavernAnime represents the other half of that promise: endless ways for players to misunderstand the quest, challenge the Master and create a better story than the one anyone expected.

From Short Sketches to Daer Umbra

The world of TavernAnime has also expanded beyond short-form comedy.

Their YouTube presence now includes Daer Umbra – Un Party Scapestrato, an actual-play Dungeons & Dragons campaign following a deeply unreliable party facing the shadows threatening Baldur’s Gate. Its official description promises improbable plans, questionable decisions, misplaced jokes and a remarkable talent for making every situation worse.

In other words, a perfectly functioning adventuring party.

The campaign brings the identity of TavernAnime into a longer narrative format, allowing jokes, character choices and consequences to grow across complete episodes rather than isolated sketches. n makes their visit to the 3D Legends dungeon even more meaningful.

They understand that roleplaying is not only about rules or winning encounters. It is about the story created between the written adventure, the physical table and the people gathered around it.

Sometimes the heroes defeat the threat.

Sometimes they spend twenty minutes arguing about how to open the door.

Both outcomes become part of the legend.

A Collaboration Built Around Real Play

What we remember most about TavernAnime is not simply that they created funny videos with us.

It is that they joined the expedition.

They came to meet us at the fair. They participated in the demonstrations. They played within the dungeon and helped transform a modular terrain layout into a scene filled with voices, choices and unpredictable moments.

That is what 3D Legends was built to support.

Not terrain that remains untouched on a shelf.

Terrain that becomes part of the campaign.

Walls that witness impossible plans. Gates that separate the party from its next mistake. Crypts, prisons and sewers that can be rebuilt after every session, ready for a completely different story.

TavernAnime brought the chaos.

We provided the dungeon.

Together, we rolled initiative.

The Next Chamber Is Already Waiting

The collaboration between TavernAnime and 3D Legends is a reminder that the greatest tabletop worlds are built by communities.

Designers create the pieces. Makers print them. Game Masters assemble the labyrinth. Players enter it and immediately discover a solution nobody had considered.

Follow TavernAnime for D&D comedy, fantasy sketches and the continuing misadventures of their actual-play party.

Then print the walls, gather your adventurers and prepare the next chamber.

The dungeon is ready.

What happens inside belongs to the party.
